Battles are raging in parts of Ayn al-Arab/Kobani itself between the invading Islamic State’s soldiers versus those defending the city. Air raids are not slowing down the slow, but steady, advance of the Islamic State. al-Hasaka witnessed few car bombs today aimed against three positions of the Kurdish forces there (YPG). The Islamic State’s soldiers also attacked three villages 30 miles south-east from al-Qamishli, and attacked Tall Barak, that is south-west of Qamishli. al-Hasaka and al-Qamishli are outside the control of the Islamic State now. In Aleppo, the fights along the contact lines in the city continued. Also the fight around Handarat. In Reef Hama, Assad’s air force attacked al-Latamneh, Kafar Zita, Morek, Lahaya, and other targets in that hot area. al-Nusra released videos documenting its attack against Hizballah positions. In Dar’a and Reef al-Qunaytara: anti Assad groups are advancing and after taking over Tall al-Harra, now Zimrin and the town of al-Harra are under their control. The fights are continuing. In Damascus, fights are on in Jubar and air raids are hitting ‘Arbeen, and Saqba. al-Dukhaniyah was back into Assad’s control. In Latakia, Jabal al-Akrad is still witnessing heavy scrimmages. Mazot, the main heating oil, is hitting 250 liras, if you can find it.
